08 - Hall Pantry

03/25/2025

There was this space across the bathroom that had depth but was too shallow for most furniture, making an already narrow hallway seem smaller.  Ikea bookshelves were almost flush but didnt offer much useful storage, so I got the idea to build a door frame and turn the area into a pantry--this turned out to not only turn a useless space into a large and fully useful space, but it added a nice accent to the house overall.

1. Veranda Doors from Home Depot - they cost 80 at the time, now $109.  Ridiculous inflation.

2. Used 1" wood planks as the wall frame to maximize space. then OSB plywood and .5" sheetrock.

3. Shelves and shelving system all Home Depot.

4. Add single-gang outlet too.

5. My wife installed black knobs, but I don't have a final picture..
