Learn As Much As You Can From All Resources

• Get quotes from contractors and ask installation questions and the steps involved. If you hire them, be nosey while they work; watch, and ask short questions—of course while always being friendly, but determined and complementary of their skills.
• Watch and Ask a Journeymen that works for the contractors too, but keep it short, while offer them a courtesy coffee, soda pop, or snack.
• Watch Internet How-To's – Youtube is a major favorite. Watch more than 1 video on a particular topic even if you think you got-the-gist.
• Ask old guys at Home Depot.
• Ask subject matter experts (SME's) that work in the Isles / Sections, or are Assistant Managers at specialized stores like Tile World, Floor & Décor, & especially Surplus Supply stores.  If a surplus store has a manufacturing arm, like door-building, that means there's a lot of skilled people on that premises.
